FIAT FRENZY AT RACE RETRO SALE

Three Fiat’s from the 1960’s are adding some Italian flair to the Silverstone Auctions hosted Race Retro & Classic Car Sale on 23rd February at Stoneleigh Park.
The stylish trio include two Abarth’s and an original 500 model in stunning red paintwork with just 39,000 miles from new some 45 years ago.
Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, said: “We’ve enjoyed some fantastic successes with Fiat’s at our previous auctions, including one that was previously owned by the Prime Minster, and I’m sure that these three stunning models will do just as well.”
The oldest on offer is an incredibly rare 1965 Fiat Abarth OT 1000 Coupé, estimated at between £25,000 to £30,000, which is a must-have model for any collector of Italian sports cars.
This particular example has resided in Italy all of its life, its bodywork is in excellent condition, while the interior remains incredibly fresh.
Just two years younger is another Abarth, this time a 695 SS model. It is has been estimated at the same price.
This baby Abarth is supplied with a period Abarth driver's seat, Abarth/Jaeger rev counter and dials, plus 4-point rear roll hoop. Indeed, such is the originality of this example, it even boasts Abarth rubber bonnet catches!
Meanwhile, the Fiat 500 model from 1968, estimated at between £7,000 to £9,000, benefitted from a full restoration just two years ago. Adding to its appeal is the fact it’s a ‘round dial’ example built as a left hand drive model for the Italian market.
As well as these three Fiat’s, the Race Retro & Classic Car Sale has nearly 80 models, including race and rally cars, plus plenty of classic road-going offerings.
